WHO I AM?
I think that without a bachelor’s degree and a physical body, I am just a curious and intense living being, living every minute of the day, wanting to help other people through my passion, that is medicinal chemistry and clinical research because I´m fascinated to know the background of drugs and how it´s possible that a simple tablet can relief or even disappear diseases.
I asked my friends, family members, and my work partners their opinion about me, and they say I have the next soft skills: initiative, organization, availability to work in a team, attention to detail, service attitude, assistance in situations, and acting on it, I also can adapt to new contexts and get over adversities with a nice attitude and thanked God for one more day of life.

Experience
As a professional specializing in the pharmacotherapeutic area and clinical research, I had the chance to perform diverse charges in which I faced multiple challenges that had brought out the best of me, getting me out of my comfort zone and helping me to generate a better version of me.

March 2021 – July 2021
Clinical Pharmacist – National Institute of Cardiology (Cardioneumology floor patients)
When I realized my professional training, I learned:
Life is a gift we unwrap every day
Everything happened when I saw the bad prognostics of the cardioneumology floor patients when they don´t take care of their bodies or have genetic problems, I could see and even feel how their life’s escaped from their own hands and there was nothing left to do. Besides I got infected with COVID-19.

I met in flesh and bone the importance of the meaning that can be “doing your bit” in the patient’s life when I helped them with the knowledge acquired through the physicians to help them to develop a treatment less risky to patients, I helped clinical nutritionists to develop a diet that didn´t affect with the patient´s treatment, I assisted the nursery staff to know which drugs cannot be administered in the same IV administration site and also avoiding unnecessary interventions.
I learned professionally to:
Working under pressure and organization
Due to the huge workload, I realized daily, I put into practice the attention to detail to the medical records of the patients and the visitor’s pass, just like the organization that I should have to prioritize the work activities and the 4 projects I realized during my stay.
Teamwork and relate to professionals.
In the beginning, it wasn´t easy to work and relate with a multidisciplinary team of different ages confirmed by cardiologists, clinical nutritionists, nurses, and respiratory technicians, it was like if I were an amateur musician playing for a professional orchestra in which everyone has a specific role and I had to link to with my instrument, but thanks to the time and perseverance I could fit in the orchestra and accomplish my role being a required and respected musician.
Knowledge in multiple areas.
At being in one of the best hospitals of cardiology in the country and being in the cardioneumology area which only exists in 2 hospitals in México I had to learn pieces of knowledge of:

Hospital pharmacy about the national standards, politics, and drugs that were available in the institute.

Fundaments of cardioneumology to comprehend the functions and illness that were between the heart and the lungs.

Pharmacovigilance according to the standard (NOM-220-SSA1-2016) to know how to report adverse drug reactions and their classifications.

Scientific article redaction and creation of posters summarizing an investigation in only one page creatively and visually attractive

Pharmacology therapeutic to analyze the drug interactions from a molecular point of view

Pharmaceutical technology to analyze drug formulations prescribed in magistral pharmacies

Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics to understand the drug reactions in the human body and understand the key factors that affect their correct function.

Bachelor’s degree in Biopharmaceutical Chemist, La Salle University
This career lasts 4 and a half years, however, it took me 5 years to finish it, because in life and success there are never results like linear regression, there will be always obstacles and in those 5 years of my life, I learned the scientific fundamentals that a Biopharmaceutical Chemist must domain, just like the life lessons by part of my professors and classmates. It taught me to face my worst fears and take advantage of them.

INTRODUCTORY COURSE ON SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION IN HEALTH SCIENCES, PAN AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATION
In this course, I learned how is established a scientific article, what databases I can use to search for the most recent articles, as well as what should I do and what I shouldn´t do in the moment of reacting to a scientific article.

Thanks to Erland Steven´s classes I learned what is the background in drug discovery, focusing on the main stages of the discovery, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and the phases of the clinical trial.

Online Research Ethics Course, the University of Montana with the Office of Research Integrity (ORI)
In these 6 sections of the course, I understood the main importance that has the ethics in clinical research, as well as the responsibility that has the professionals of the healthcare area, the institutions, the ethics committees, the companies that realize research in humans, and animals.

Good Documentation Practices, Pharmaceutical Services, and Consulting
In this intensive course I learned about the good practices that should be realized to a document, focused on a pharmaceutical process, as well as the importance of documenting any type of declaration because experts say: “if it´s not documented, it never existed”.

When I did my social service, I learned:
Research is an art that requires patience, tolerance to frustration, and attention to detail
When I searched for scientific articles related to inflammation and compounds derivate from Poaceae spp, I learned that no matter how many tools and databases you know, you are not going to find what you are looking for if you don´t have patience for searching information, the tolerance to frustration when you don´t find what you are investigating and the attention to detail because sometimes a click can make a difference.
I learned professionally to:
Open to new technologies
Due to the computational experiments that I realized during my social service, I had to know and use multiple computational programs such as (Molegro, ChemOffice, Discovery Studio, Osiris Property Explorer, Swiss Target/Swiss ADME)
Being the coach, I would like to have
Support 6 students with their academic research projects
Analyzing and interpreting Excel databases of almost 300 compounds throwing a little bit more of 2 000 data and their respective filtration.

Chemoinformatics.- I learned how to use multiple chemoinformatic programs like Molegro to realize docking, Discovery to illustrate with detail the interaction between a ligand and its receptor, Swiss Target to know which are the possible therapeutic targets of my molecules, Swiss ADME to know the pharmacokinetic properties of the best molecules, Molinspiration to know if my molecules comply with the Lipinski rules, IBM RXN to know the retrosynthesis of the best molecules and to know how feasible were to follow-up the research, Osiris Property Explorer to know the toxicology properties of the compounds.

Pharmacology. - Knowing in detail the mechanisms of action of the AINE´s (Anti-inflammatory Non-Steroidal) drugs and knowing the properties that define the effectiveness of a drug.

Organic Chemistry. - Knowing the molecular characteristics that had each molecule, their interpretation, synthesis, and retrosynthesis of the molecules.

Immunology. - Knowing the immunologic point of view of inflammation, how inflammation naturally reacts in our body.

Clinical Research. - Knowing the animal models that could be feasible to realize the proper experimentation in animals.

Natural Products Lab. - Learn through technics how to extract these compounds of plants, just like the yield obtained through these experiments.

Spectroscopy altogether. – Learn how to interpret infrared, ultraviolet, masses spectrum, and NMR nuclear magnetic resonance of carbon and proton to identify the extracted molecules.
